Legal
Terms & Conditions
Last updated 28 September 2026
The short version
- You get a personal licence to use BridgeSync - you do not get to own, copy, resell, modify, or take apart the software.
- BridgeSync is proprietary, closed-source software - all rights reserved.
- Pirating, cracking, reverse-engineering, or circumventing Pro locks is strictly forbidden, ends your licence on the spot, and can be pursued in court.
- Pro is a paid subscription, billed through the provider for where you bought it - Apple on iPhone, or Stripe on the web. You manage and cancel it there.
- BridgeSync is provided "as is" - you use it at your own risk, and I am not liable for losses arising from using it.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and the developer of BridgeSync. By downloading, installing, accessing or using the BridgeSync iPhone app, the BridgeSync desktop app, the website, or any related service (together, "BridgeSync" or the "Software"), you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use BridgeSync.
These Terms work alongside my Privacy Policy, which explains how your data is handled and is incorporated here by reference.
2. Who provides BridgeSync
BridgeSync is developed, owned and operated by Marcell Béres, an individual developer based in Hungary ("I", "me", "the developer"). You can reach me at support@bridgesyncapp.com.
3. Your licence to use BridgeSync
Subject to your continued compliance with these Terms, I grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable licence to install and use BridgeSync on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal use. That is the entire extent of what you receive.
This is a licence to use the Software. It is not a sale, and no ownership of any part of BridgeSync is transferred to you. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by the developer.
4. What you may not do
BridgeSync is proprietary software. To keep it that way, and to be crystal clear about the limits of your licence, you agree that you will not, and will not permit or help anyone else to:
Strictly prohibited
- Copy, distribute, publish, sell, rent, lease, lend or sublicense the Software or any part of it, or make it available to any third party.
- Pirate, crack, or use an unauthorised or counterfeit copy of the Software, or distribute the means to do so.
- Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the Software or any part of it.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, underlying ideas, algorithms, file formats, or protocols of the Software, except to the narrow extent this restriction is expressly prohibited by applicable law.
- Circumvent, disable, or tamper with any licensing, subscription, entitlement, security, or access-control mechanism - including anything that gates Pro features.
- Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice.
- Use the Software to build, train, or benchmark a competing product, or extract its content or components for such a purpose.
- Use the Software for any unlawful purpose, or to transfer content you do not have the right to transfer.
- Probe, scan, overload, or disrupt the Software, my servers, or the networks or services I rely on, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account or system.
BridgeSync is closed-source proprietary software, and nothing in these Terms or in the availability of the app grants you any right to its source code.
I enforce this. Any breach of this section terminates your licence immediately and automatically, and I reserve the right to pursue every remedy the law allows - including court injunctions to stop the activity, monetary damages, recovery of my legal costs, and, where the conduct is criminal, referral to the authorities for prosecution.
5. Ownership and intellectual property
The Software, and everything in it - including all source and object code, design, user interface, graphics, icons, text, the "BridgeSync" name and logo, and all related intellectual property - is and remains the exclusive property of the developer and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. All rights are reserved. Your licence gives you no ownership of, and no right to use my name or branding except as strictly necessary to use the app as intended.
6. Accounts
Using BridgeSync requires an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your login credentials confidential, and that you are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be old enough to hold an account as described in my Privacy Policy. Notify me promptly of any unauthorised use.
7. Subscriptions, billing and refunds
BridgeSync is free to use with core features. Certain features ("BridgeSync Pro") require a paid subscription.
- Pro is sold through the payment provider for the platform you subscribe on: Apple's App Store on iPhone, or Stripe (via RevenueCat) on the web. Payment is taken at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off before the current period ends.
- You manage, change, or cancel your subscription with the provider you bought it through - your Apple account settings for an App Store purchase, or the billing portal linked from the app for a web purchase.
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its own policy.
- If you live in the EU or UK and buy Pro on the web, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal: e-mail me within 14 days of the purchase and you get a full refund.
- I may change the price or the set of Pro features going forward; any change is subject to the provider's rules and, where required, your consent, and never affects a period you have already paid for.
8. Acceptable use and your content
You are solely responsible for the files, clipboard data, and other content you transfer or sync through BridgeSync, and you confirm you have the right to handle that content. BridgeSync moves your content directly between your own devices; I do not store the contents of your transfers (see the Privacy Policy). You must not use BridgeSync to store, send, or sync anything unlawful or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
9. Third-party services
BridgeSync relies on services from Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat and Stripe to function. Your use of the app is also subject to the applicable terms of those providers, and I am not responsible for their services. Where you buy Pro through Apple, the App Store's own terms apply to that purchase and control where they conflict with these Terms.
10. Availability and changes to the Software
I may update, change, suspend, or discontinue BridgeSync or any feature at any time, and I do not guarantee that the Software or any server it relies on will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. I may release updates that you need to install to keep using the app.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
BridgeSync is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the maximum extent permitted by law, I disclaim all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Software will be reliable, secure, accurate, uninterrupted, or free of errors or that any data transfer will succeed or be free from loss. You use BridgeSync at your own risk and are responsible for maintaining your own backups of anything important.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, BridgeSync - even if advised of the possibility.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, my total aggregate liability for any and all claims relating to BridgeSync is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid me for the Software in the twelve months before the claim, or ten euros (€10).
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of BridgeSync, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any law or third-party right.
14. Suspension and termination
These Terms and your licence apply until terminated. Your licence ends automatically and immediately if you breach any part of Section 4 (What you may not do). I may also suspend or terminate your access if you otherwise breach these Terms or misuse the Software. You may stop using BridgeSync at any time and delete your account from within the app. On termination, your right to use the Software ceases and you must stop using and remove all copies; the sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) continue to apply.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary and, where applicable, the European Union, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Hungary have jurisdiction over any dispute, except that mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence remain available to you where the law so requires.
16. Changes to these Terms
I may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, the date at the top is updated and I will tell you by e-mail or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use BridgeSync after that means you accept the revised Terms.

19. Trademarks
Apple, the Apple logo, App Store, and iPhone are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. "Sign in with Apple" is a service provided by Apple Inc. Windows is a trademark of the Microsoft group of companies. These names and marks are used only to identify the platforms BridgeSync works with and the sign-in and store options available to you - so that you recognise those options - and not for promotion. BridgeSync is an independent product, developed by an individual, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. or Microsoft.
20. If you got BridgeSync from the App Store
These terms apply to the iPhone app on top of everything above:
- These Terms are between you and me, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the iPhone app or its content.
- Your licence to the iPhone app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the iPhone app.
- If the iPhone app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the iPhone app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar laws.
- If a third party claims the iPhone app infringes their intellectual property rights, I, not Apple, am responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile data or internet service agreement.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, once you accept them, have the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
